MMEETT offers three custom engraving methods on three metal substrates: laser engraving, UV full-color printing, and deep etch with enamel fill on aluminum, stainless steel, or titanium. Every card is personalized before shipping based on your uploaded design. Turnaround is 7–21 business days depending on material. Single-side engraving is included with every card at no extra cost.
Design Process
How to Design Your Custom Metal Card
The MMEETT design process is built for professionals who know their brand identity and want it translated faithfully into metal. Here is how it works:
- Upload Your Assets: Log into the MMEETT design portal and upload your logo (SVG or PNG with transparent background), typography files, and any reference layouts. The system automatically checks resolution and warns if your logo will not engrave cleanly at card size.
- Select Material: Choose aluminum (USD 98), stainless steel (USD 148), or titanium (USD 298). The material determines which decoration methods are available and how your colors will appear.
- Select Decoration Method: Laser engraving, UV printing, or deep etch. The portal previews each option on your chosen material in real time.
- Layout and Preview: Drag your elements onto the card template. Front and back are both editable. The preview shows exact dimensions, safe zones, and how the decoration will appear at physical scale.
- Approve and Order: Confirm the preview, select quantity, and check out. You will receive a production-proof email within 24 hours for final approval before machining begins.
Methods
Three Decoration Methods, Three Aesthetic Results
Each decoration method produces a different visual and tactile result:
- Laser Engraving: A fiber laser removes the surface layer to reveal bare metal beneath. On anodized aluminum, this creates high-contrast silver marks on dark backgrounds. On steel, it creates subtle matte-gray marks on polished surfaces. The result is permanent, scratch-proof, and has a slight texture you can feel. Best for: clean logos, monograms, minimal typography.
- UV Direct-to-Metal Printing: Full-color CMYK + white ink is deposited directly onto the surface and cured with UV light. Supports gradients, photographs, and complex artwork. The print layer is 12 microns thick and bonded to the metal. Best for: colorful brand identities, photographs, and detailed artwork. Available on aluminum and steel only.
- Deep Etch with Enamel: A photoresist mask protects the surface, then an electrochemical process recesses the design 0.1–0.2mm into the metal. The recess is filled with black or white enamel, then fired at 180°C to bond it permanently. The result is tactile — you can feel the design with your fingertip — and extremely durable. Best for: luxury applications, corporate gifts, and designs that need to last decades.
File Requirements
Upload Guidelines for Best Results
For the cleanest result, follow these file guidelines:
- Logo: SVG preferred. Minimum 300 DPI if PNG. Transparent background required. Line weight no thinner than 0.25mm for laser engraving.
- Typography: Convert to outlines or provide font files. Minimum 6pt size for laser engraving, 4pt for UV printing.
- Color: For UV printing, use CMYK color mode. For laser engraving, provide a single-color vector. The laser does not reproduce grayscale — it either engraves or does not.
- Bleed: Leave 2mm margin from all edges. The card has rounded corners with a 3mm radius — artwork that extends to the edge may be clipped.
Use Cases
Who Orders Custom Engraved Metal Cards?
Custom engraving is the majority of MMEETT metal card orders. Common use cases include:
- Startup Founders: Company logo on the front, personal contact on the back. Often ordered in batches of 10–50 for the founding team.
- Luxury Brands: Deep-etched monograms on titanium for exclusive client gifts. Some fashion houses order titanium cards as VIP event invitations.
- Real Estate Brokerages: Brokerage logo and agent photo UV-printed on aluminum. The photo helps clients remember which agent they met.
- Executive Coaches: Inspirational quote laser-engraved on the back, personal brand on the front. Often shared as a conversation starter.
- Law Firms: Firm crest deep-etched on steel. Conservative, permanent, and impossible to mistake for a disposable promotional item.
